Found this little 'appetizing' beauty at a local cemetery. 105mm macro lens + 36mm extension tube. Five images stacked in Helicon Focus.

Update: it's most likely a Zebra Mallow (Malva sylvestris 'Zebrina'). Here's the Common Mallow (Malva sylvestris):

This is wonderful!
The colours are gorgeous and the focus and DOF are spot on. I like how all the lines on the petals lead the eye into the centre.
And the detail on the centre of the flower is stunning!
I like the composition, but I feel that the image would be improved if you cropped off some of the right side. It's so blurred that I find it kind of distracting. :P

Beautiful shot. Well done.

Thanks a lot for your thoughtful words. I agree that the blurred right side is somewhat distracting and I actually have another version, which is cropped in square, but I eventually ended up preferring this one. I think it looked a bit boring that the center of the flower also became the center of the image ;)

Ah, fair enough. It's always difficult to tell if an image would actually look better with a different crop until you try, especially when the difference is quite minor as in this case. :P
