The Bramblings (Fringilla montifringilla) seem to be rather fussy about their food. They only tend to show up when I feed them Sunflower seeds, and leave everything else for the other birds.

Not terribly sharp, since it's shot handheld at a relatively slow shutter speed.

Please note me if you're interested in purchasing any of my works. Prints will then be made available at RedBubble.com.

I wonder what they'll eat if there were no Sunflower seeds! Could they find any worm? :)
You seem to have quite a few birds around in the midst of winter!

I've been feeding the birds for the past three months since it's been an extraordinary harsh winter, and it's been a sheer pleasure to watch them gathering near by the house.

The Bramblings are migratory and started to arrive here about a week ago. I'm sure they'll be able to find worms and insects pretty soon as the snow is now slowly melting :)

Only if they are omnivores. :)

That's right. By the way, they also like cheese :D

Interesting tidbit. Don't sunflower seeds have a high fat content? And so does cheese. :)

Yes, both of them do. And the birds need lots of fat to survive the cold :)
