You don't have hedgehogs in the US? They are very common here, but not seen in the daytime very often.

No, they don't run wild here. Just in petstores and zoos. :( I would love to see those guys running around.

They are so cute. I sometimes go look for them at night with a flashlight, or leave some water or milk for them to drink. They sleep in my compost heap all day and also during the long winter :)

It would be perfect to keep in an enclosed backyard. It eats almost anything and even takes small snakes. You can read some more here [link]
