Peaceful Evening by KeldBach Peaceful Evening by KeldBach
Captured somewhere along the shores of the Musholm Bay. It's not very often the ocean is being as calm as this, but it was almost a completely windless evening. Only minor post editing was done, as I wanted to keep the delicate pastel hues on the sky intact. Here's another shot from the same location:

Amazing view! It seems not to be at Earth. Great composition, beautiful light and colors, too.

Beautiful image and indeed very peaceful!
And the colors are just perfect!
Do you use a Zoom-Lens or Primes for this kind of photography.

Thanks very much. I used a Sigma 10-20mm zoom lens for this shot, which is surprisingly sharp when mounted on a full-frame body, since the soft corners will be cropped off.

I know this Sigma lens! It's awesome!
I see you're using the famous D700! What a great camera.

Yes, I'm quite happy with the D700, but before that I used a Olympus E-400, which was my first digital camera. I really liked that camera and the Zuiko lenses, but unfortunately digital noise above ISO 200 was a major problem, so that's why I switched to Nikon. I sold everything to a German guy via this journal a couple of years ago [link]

I know about Olympus. I still use the E-1.
But I definitely want to switch to Nikon because I own and use for my macro pictures two Nikkor-Primes (50mm/1.4 and 85mm/2) with extension tubes. Nearly all my Macros in my gallery were made with these.

Sounds interesting. Then the new D800 might be a good choice for you :D

between Nikon and Canon! I used to shoot film and used both..

That's a hard decision. I think both brands are equally good, although with some cons and pros on either side. My first Nikon (D300) was a secondhand one, which I got at a very reasonable price. That made the decision for me :)

It's true..price is critical for me as well.
Right now it's a matter of getting things together for early retirement.
Prioritize and see what comes out the other end!:lmao:

True. Just get the best you can afford. After all, it's not the camera, but the photographer behind it that matters :)
