Right from the beginning I noticed that my photos looked slightly lighter or over-exposed when uploaded to the dA site. I always use the recommended colour space sRGB, so that shouldn't be the cause of the problem. To illustrate what I mean, I have posted two different versions of my latest shots:

The photos to the right have been darkened by a factor of 32 plus the contrast has been increased by a factor of 32, which seems to be the necessary adjustments to have them look correctly here. Does anyone have an explanation to this annoying phenomenon?
Update: I have submitted several of my photos to other sites (including the JPG Magazine and photoSIG) without encountering any problems of this kind, so I've now come to a point where the situation is no longer acceptable and I've found it necessary to put my dA account on a stand-by until a workable solution hopefully arises. In the meantime you can find my photos
here.
Update 2: Well, I think I have found a solution to the above problem. At least for the time being. With each deviation I'll now provide a link to the original photo at my website to make it possible to see how the work was intended to look like. Prints will no longer be available at the dA site, but instead be sold at my Café Press Shop as soon as I get things re-organized. It's a little extra work, but I hope it's well worth it.
Update 3: OK, I've just discovered that when you open the full-sized version of a photo, the colours show up exactly as they should. Very strange indeed... am I the only one who has noticed that?
