Is there any difference between File Sharing and Piracy?

No. In both cases you're 'stealing' somebody else's work
Yes. Piracy is when you make money from other people's work or claim it as your own
Yes. File Sharing is not 'stealing' but a great way to try out or discover new work (e.g. film, music, games, apps) that you would otherwise not get to know

Stealing means that I will get some earnings or money from this action. Means that I will record a CD and sale it on the friday's market in my town without SHARING my earnings with the author of the recordings.
And sharing means and always have meant from the dawn of time :) that the number of happy people incrises proportionaly to the number of acts of sharing - without money! only in the goal of social/public good.
Sharing knowlege and art and information is also in the goal of social/public good.
When I share my bred or water with poor ppl, I'm doing a right job - of course only when I'm sharing MY bred and water not stolen ones :) And that is the same with information - whem I have bought a CD of DVD and I'm sharing it - for example lending it to be recorded on a casette by my friend - I'm doing something NORMAL. And the internet make such sharing more effective and fast - so its good :) As Medieval islamic sage have told his students : When you give off money - you will have a lack of some money, but when you give off knowlege - it will increase the amount of knowlege :)
Greetings :)
