China vs America

Uh, this quote seems to miss the billions of dollars that the leaders of China's SINGLE party have stashed away (often in family members' accounts).  Okay, they didn't become powerful because they were rich: the wealth followed their power.  So how does a political system where the powerful add financial power to their political power work better than a system where the financially powerful add political power?  Both countries are filled with corruption and crimes against the people, but at least the USA spreads the lie of its goodness through saccharine propaganda rather than state control of media, politics, economy etc.
